Expertly Assisted Legalisation
Essentially there are two types of legalisation – an Apostille issued by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), an official certificate attached to a document confirming the identity of a certifying officer or Notary. For countries that have ratified the Hague Convention, this second layer of verification is often sufficient after notarisation. (i.e. No embassy legalisation required)
Embassy legalisation, a further stage of verification may be necessary after obtaining an Apostille, for some countries.
